Born in 1989 in Mulhouse, France, Philippe Tondre starts playing oboe at the age of 6 with Yves Cautrès at the Ecole Nationale de Musique in Mulhouse. When he is only 15 years old, he is graduated with mention honorable and the jurie’s congratulations.

He is awarded the first price in 2005 AFH (French oboe association) congress as well at the U.F.A.M conventon in the same year.

Philippe continues his ascension in 2006, entering the CNSM (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique) in Paris, studying with David Walter, Jacques Tys and Frédéric Tardy (also took lessons with Maurice Bourgue, Jean-Louis Capezzali and Jérôme Guichard !).

Finaliste in the international young performers’ Automn Music festival in 2007, he is awarded the 3rd prize and the Gustav Mahler special prize dedicated to the youngest finaliste of the Prague spring festival competition in 2008.

Since beginning october 2008, Philippe is nominated oboe soloist at the SWR Radio-Sinfonie Orchester Stuttgart.

Guest soloist in various orchestras, he also plays with the Gustav Mahler Jugenorchester, l’Orchestre Français des Jeunes.

We assist today to the dawn of a great young musician and will closely follow up his career !
