Born in Yamaguchi, Japan.
Joined Japan Philharmonic Orchestra while studying at Kunitachi Music College.
Principal oboist at Japan Philharmonic Orchestra from 1988 to August 2000.
Debuted as soloist in September 2000, and in commemoration held a recital titled "A moment and the eternity" and the CD of the same title in 2001 impressed the audience.
Performs concertos with orchestras and chamber music groups domestic and abroad, such as Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, La Scala String Orchestra in Milan, Czech Chamber Soloists, Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, and Moscow Soloists, and get favorable reviews.
Highly expected artist, who got the first contract as solo oboist with Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in September 2001. Also performs as a member of Baroque 21, Euros Ensemble and Kioi Sinfonietta Tokyo.
During the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra's European tour in March 2002, London Times gave rave reviews naming him, and the audience welcomed him with enthusiasm at each venue. As the leading Japanese oboist, he is remarkably active, and recently emerges also in the field of screen music.
Other activities include to serve as a jury at major competitions such as Japan Music Competition and Japan Wind and Percussion Competition, and teaches young artists as a lecturer at Showa Music College. Also serves as a member of executive board of Japan Oboe Association.
Released the first album in 1997 titled "Romeo and Juliet," followed in 1999 second album titled "Dublin Café." In June 2001, released "Space of Blue" from Victor Entertainment, which is highly appreciated in Europe also.
With his deep and soul-stirring musicality as well as outstanding beautiful sound, he is one of the oboe soloists who is in step with the times, and is expected to grow boundlessly for future.
